QPR face a battle to keep hold of talented youngster Ryan Manning with Crystal Palace and Scottish giants Celtic interested in the midfielder.

The 21-year old has forced his way back into the team since March and has impressed, scoring goals in wins against Aston Villa and Norwich.

And, according to Football Insider that form has not gone unnoticed with Palace and Celtic both weighing up summer moves for Manning.

The report adds that Brendan Rodgers' men have regularly sent scouts to watch the former Galway United man who has made 16 appearances in the league this season.

The R's financial situation means that they will not be in an ideal position to hold on to many players this summer, with interest in several of their promising younger players.

After breaking into the first-team last year, Manning had to be patient before he got a run in the side this season but has taken his chance in recent weeks.

As well as that, he impressed for Ireland's U21 side in recent international matches.

The Verdict

QPR supporters will already be fed up with reports linking the most talented players to other clubs, although if Celtic and Palace are genuinely interested it will no doubt appeal to Manning.

However, in terms of his career development it's tough to see how moving would benefit him.

Game time is going to be very hard to come by in the Premier League or for Celtic, so he would be best served by staying and continuing to improve under Ian Holloway.
