Scottish giants Celtic are not relinquishing their interest in 27-year-old Aston Villa man Scott Sinclair, after Brendan Rodgers’ side apparently submitted a fifth bid for the Englishman – the BBC reports.
Sinclair, who arrived at Villa Park last summer, has already enjoyed a very decorated career despite his reasonably young age- making 257 professional appearances, and playing for 12 different clubs.
He undoubtedly enjoyed his best career spell at Swansea during the years of 2010 and 2012 – Sinclair made 91 appearances during his tenure with The Swans, scoring an impressive 36 goals during this time.
Perhaps un-coincidentally, Sinclair’s manager during his time at the Liberty Stadium was current Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers – Rodgers obviously knows how to get the best out of Sinclair, which perhaps justifies the pursuit of his services.
Sinclair endured a tough year at Villa Park last term, scoring 9 goals in 45 appearances – which even though isn’t a catastrophic record, isn’t one he’ll look back on with much pride; could a move to Celtic Park be the best move to revitalise Sinclair’s career?
The former England U21 international is contracted to remain with The Villains’ until 2019.
So… Aston Villa fans, what do you make of this? Should Sinclair stay? Should he go, do you think Di Matteo has better options lined up?
