Celtic midfielder set for potential exit, Championship side plotting bid

Published

Fulham is set to place a bid in the region of £2 million for Celtic’s Norwegian midfielder Stefan Johansen, according to the Scottish Sun.

Slavisa Jokanovic’s side had already been linked with the Norwegian midfielder who is destined to the Scottish Champions, either for a fee this year or on a free transfer next summer.

After a heavy cash windfall following the sale of Ross McCormack, it is expected that Fulham will be one of the busiest clubs in the final weeks of the transfer window.

A reoccurring name linked with Fulham is Norwegian international Stefan Johansen, since the arrival of Brendan Rodgers, Johansen has been used sparingly and it appears that the 25-year-old midfielder will once again be on the fringes of the first team squad.

If Fulham is to sign Johansen, it may be over the £2 million mark to beat off the competition from Turkish giants Galatasaray who have also shown an interest in signing the out of favour Celtic talent.

It is yet to be seen how Celtic will respond to the bid that Fulham are likely to place, but it would not come as a surprise if Johansen was to be a Fulham player by the end of the window.

Fulham fans, how do you feel about the news? Would you like to Stefan Johansen join your side? Is he the type of player that you’d think would suit Fulham? Should Fulham look to use the McCormack money to strengthen the entire squad including signing Johansen or focus solely on replacing the goals?
