As per Teamtalk, Celtic have launched a move for Patrick Roberts as they look to take the winger back but this time on a permanent basis.
Roberts is still contracted to Manchester City but has never really featured for the Citizens and has instead spent numerous spells away.
He’s been at Norwich City this season and is currently at Middlesbrough, but his most successful spell came at Celtic where he won several trophies and dazzled with his performances.
It looks as though the Hoops are aiming to bring him back, too, with them apparently making a move to try and sign him on a permanent basis.
Roberts is a good footballer but since leaving Celtic, he hasn’t really managed to fit in anywhere.
There’s a good level of talent with him, but he needs to be playing somewhere where he can show that, and only at Celtic Park has he done so on a regular basis.
For Bhoys, this will be exciting news as it shows they’re making continuing efforts to keep their grip firmly on the game in Scotland.
Whether or not it happens remains to be seen, but you’d have thought Manchester City wouldn’t put too many obstacles in his way.
