Scottish Premiership champions Celtic have joined the for out-of-contract Barnsley winger Marley Watkins, according to the Football League Paper.

Brendan Rodgers joins a list of Premier League and Championship sides vying a move for the out-of-contract winger who is considering his future at Barnsley.

Norwich City are thought to be the favourites to sign the former Swansea City man, but face competition from Burnley, Bristol City, Cardiff City, Wolves, Ipswich and now Celtic for his signature.

Watkins has enjoyed a fabulous season in the Championship this year, having scored 10 goals and made seven assists from right wing this year.

Celtic have made fabulous progress under Rodgers this season and have stormed their way to the Scottish Premiership title with an unbeaten campaign, and will hope to add Watkins to further enforce their dominance.

It means the 26-year-old has a considerable decision ahead of him this summer, with Barnsley understandably desperate to keep him.
