Celtic in transfer tussle with Reading and Barnsley for player in fine form

Celtic are rivalling both Barnsley and Reading to the potential signing of Livingston goalkeeper, Liam Kelly according to the Scottish Sun, via the Daily Record.

The former Rangers youth prospect has been impressive this season and has certainly played his part in keeping the Lions in the top division of Scottish football.

But his contract with Livingston is set to expire upon the conclusion of this year’s campaign, which means that Kelly could be available for as little as £50,000.

The 23-year-old is expected to be one of the players heading for the exit door in the near future, with a number of the club’s best players potentially leaving as well.

Kelly is also attracting interest from German side, Hamburg who are exploring the possibility of tempting him with an offer to play abroad.

He’s next in action for Livingston when they take on St Johnstone this weekend, where Kelly will be hoping to build on some impressive performances this season.

An interesting summer awaits, as speculation regarding Kelly’s future intensifies when the transfer window reopens.

The Verdict:

He’s more than deserving of a move this summer.

Kelly has been really impressive with Livingston this season and if the rumoured fee is for that amount, then it would be a steal in today’s market.

I’m sure this won’t be the last we hear of a rumour involving the shot-stopper.
