Whilst Nottingham Forest, Middlesbrough and Hull City all hold strong interest in Norwich City striker Gary Hooper, it is currently his former club Celtic who are in pole position to pull of a deal for the striker.

Gary Hooper is wanted by Sheffield Wednesday
Celtic are leading a host of Championship clubs in the race for Hooper

According to the Scunthorpe Telegraph, Hooper is supposedly wanted by the Glasgow giants as they look to tempt him into a move back north of the border to play for the club where he once netted 63 goals in 95 appearances.

Hooper is out of favourite with Norwich boss Alex Neil and the manager is looking to offload Hooper as he attempts to free up spaces in his squad for his own recruits, and the bookies are suggesting that Ronny Deila's Celtic are in pole position.

Nottingham Forest could be right behind Celtic, with news emerging that Neil holds an interest in Forest winger Michail Antonio and could use Hooper as bait to land the ex-Sheffield Wednesday player.

Hooper is a natural born goalscorer and whoever does land the 27-year-old will have a superb talisman on their hands, and ultimately could help them in their pursuit of promotion.
