Celtic look to have missed out on the signature of exciting young defender Jamal Lewis who looks to be signing a bumper new four-year deal at Norwich City according to the Eastern Daily Press.

The 20-year-old Northern Irish left-back, had also had interest from a number of Premier League sides as well as the Bhoys, but looks to be staying at Carrow Road, where he is already a regular in Daniel Farke's side.

So is missing out on Lewis bad news for Celtic?

We discuss.....

Jay Taylor

Celtic have not had much luck this summer and this is another blow.

Norwich keeping hold of one of their prized possessions is good of news as it is bad for the Scottish side.

Lewis is only 20 and has a big future ahead of him so the fact he looks set to agree to a long-term deal with the Canaries is promising that the lad has his head screwed on and won’t look to move to the top division in England or Scotland for the sake of it.

Gary Hutchinson

He would have been a big hit in Scotland, but it isn’t to be.

Celtic are struggling up there this season. Things will settle down, but they need a boost.

Still, there’s plenty of players who can do a role so they won’t be distraught.
