Jonny Hayes has been a valuable member of the Celtic squad over the past couple of seasons, however the winger's time at Celtic Park could now be up with his contract due to run out in the summer.

The 32-year-old has spent the past decade north of the border with Inverness Caledonian Thistle, Aberdeen and Celtic, who he joined in the summer of 2017, however could now be set for a return back down south to England, having featured for Cheltenham Town during the 2008-2009 season.

Hayes has only started once this season in the Scottish Premiership with two starts in the cup and 13 appearances off the bench as he has had to make do with being a bench warmer for the third consecutive season at Celtic.

The winger has, however, contributed when pulling on the green and white stripes of the Scottish giants, having netted against Rangers this season in the Old Firm derby and made 53 appearances for Celtic with just the two goals.

Hayes looks set to depart the club without ever staking a claim for a regular spot within the first-team at Celtic Park, and some supporters will be disappointed to see the winger depart.

He is a good option to have off the bench, with his experience and creativity making him a winger who can be dangerous when he gets into the right positions down the flanks.

Despite not being a goalscorer by any means, he is able to create for and support the strikers that are playing centrally, as well as give advice to the younger players around him.

Hayes is being lined up for a move to the Championship by both Swansea City and Stoke City, where he will have enough about him to fight for a place within their first-team starting 11.

Celtic fans will be hoping that they get to see more of the winger over the course of the coming weeks and months as he could depart for nothing when the winger could be worth a tidy sum, and he will have options on the table for him come January if Celtic choose to willingly let the 32-year-old go.
