Celtic are said to be interested in signing Reading defender, Liam Moore according to journalist, Courtney Friday.

Friday broke the news on his Twitter account, and the Madejski Stadium are certain to be fearing the worst after this latest rumour.

Moore has been a rare bright-spark in a disappointing couple of seasons for the Royals, and there’s no doubting that he would be deserving of a move elsewhere.

He signed a contract extension with the Berkshire-based club in 2017, although it remains to be seen if there is a potential buy-out clause in that new deal.

Moore moved to Reading back in 2016, from Premier League side, Leicester City and has proven to be an excellent bit of business by the Royals.

He made 38 appearances in last year’s league campaign, as his team retained their Championship status for another year in the penultimate game of the Championship season.

It’s likely that Moore will be appointed captain of Jose Gomes’ side heading into next season, with Paul McShane departing the club upon the expiration of his contract at the Madejski Stadium.

It surely won’t be the last we hear of a rumour linking Moore away from Reading, and Celtic will be hoping they can persuade him to sign along the dotted line with European football in waiting for Neil Lennon’s men next season.

The Verdict:

This would be an excellent signing by Celtic if they pulled if off.

He’s a player that has been impressive for number of years now, and would be more than deserving of a move to amore reputable club.

Celtic might be put off buy Reading’s asking price for Moore, but I think they should definitely tempt the Royals with an offer for arguably, one of their best players.
