Celtic and Rangers are stepping up their interest in Stoke City’s Tyrese Campbell and have informed the Championship club they want to hold pre-contract talks with the player.
The 20-year-old is extremely highly-rated at the bet365 Stadium and has impressed in recent weeks, with his brace against Huddersfield taking him to four for the season.
However, his contract is up in the summer and the Potters face a real battle to keep him in Staffordshire after the Daily Record confirmed the Glasgow giants want to start talks with Campbell.
The duo could agree a deal with the forward that would see him join at the end of the season and it would be bad news for Stoke as they would be entitled to just £400,000 in compensation.
Whereas, if he moved to another English club, that fee would have to be agreed and it would be significantly more than if he moved north of the border.
Campbell is sure to start for Michael O’Neill’s men tomorrow as they host Millwall looking for a third win in four.

This has to be a real worry for Stoke as Campbell is a huge talent and his goals per minute ratio this season is impressive.
So, they will be desperate to keep hold of him but the reality is that it’s out of their hands. Campbell would be silly not to talk to Celtic and Rangers as they are massive clubs that compete in Europe.
The forward has a big decision to make on his future in the coming weeks and months and it will be interesting to see where he is playing his football next season.
