Fenerbahce look set to beat Celtic and Rangers to the signing of QPR winger Bright Osayi-Samuel, according to Football Insider.

The winger is out of contract at the end of the season, meaning that he is able to negotiate personal terms and talk to other clubs ahead of a potential pre-contract agreement.

The winger was close to joining Club Brugge in the summer, but a move broke down in the final stages, and he subsequently remained at QPR.

But his future remains uncertain, and with his contract running down, the wide-man looks set to complete a move away.

According to Football Insider, Fenerbahce are closing in on the signature of Osayi-Samuel, despite offers from Celtic and Rangers.

It is reported that Osayi-Samuel will be joining Fenerbahce this season on a permanent basis, though, rather than join them on a free transfer in the summer.

The Verdict

This is quite a surprising transfer breakthrough.

It is quite clear that he wants to leave QPR, and to be honest, they have done well to get a fee for him when it looked like he was going to leave for nothing at the end of the season.

He is a very good player, though, and I was surprised to see him stay at QPR amid plenty of interest in the summer.

A move to Turkey is an interesting one, but playing European football is bound to be a big factor for him going forward.
