Scottish giants Celtic and Rangers will face competition from Championship sides Norwich City, Reading and Barnsley for non-league scoring sensation Reise Allassani, according to Football Insider.

22-year-old Allassani has hit 17 goals in just 16 matches for Bostik Premier League side Dulwich Hamlet so far this season and is attracting attention from north of the border as well as from the second tier.

Allassani started his career at Crystal Palace and was on the verge of joining Championship outfit Sheffield Wednesday before a knee injury meant the deal fell through.

League One Gillingham have also expressed an interest in Allassani’s signature in the January window but the frontman may have set his sights higher.

The Verdict

If I was a manager, I'd love to take a chance on a player like Allassani. He is young and hungry and will be desperate to fight for the shirt and to prove himself at a higher level.

It would be a massive jump up in standard and Allassani would take some time to adapt to the Championship but goalscorers often have that knack of hitting the net whatever level they play at and he may well be worth a punt.
