Swansea City attacker Jordan Ayew is attracting attention from Celtic and Liverpool, according to a Ghanaian media outlet via The Daily Record.

Ayew's friend Nana Oduro Sarfo has told Onua FM that a number of clubs are keen on his services this summer and he is not going to play Championship football with Swansea.

The Swans, who are currently without a manager after Carlos Carvalhal was moved on, are heading for the Championship and could lose a number of their players to top flight clubs.

According to the print edition of The Sun via Sky Sports Paper Talk, Swansea are prepared to sell both Jordan Ayew and his brother Andre Ayew to get their hefty wages off the club's bill.

Andre Ayew only re-joined the Welsh outfit in the January transfer window in a big money return move from West Ham United but he could be about to depart rather than play Championship football.

His brother Jordan has options on the table, according to Sarfo, who said: “Jordan has had offers from several clubs after Swansea City's relegation last season.

"He will surely not play in the Championship with them. Liverpool have shown interest in him but Scottish side Celtic and their coach seem to be serious with their interest."

The 26-year-old still has two years left on his contract but he could be about to make a major move to a team who will play European football next year.

The Verdict

While Jordan Ayew will certainly get his wish of a move away from Swansea this summer, I am not sure he would be the best signing for Celtic and Liverpool.

His versatility makes him a useful option but Swansea will probably demand a sizeable transfer fee for his services and there are better options out there.

However, moving on both the Ayew brothers works in the best interests of everyone involved.
