West Bromwich Albion defender Craig Dawson is wanted by Leicester City and Celtic this summer, The Mirror reports.

Dawson is desperate to leave West Brom this summer and has been forced to train away from the first-team squad after handing in a transfer request.

Alongside Ben Foster - who has since moved to Watford - Dawson skipped pre-season training in Portugal and was disciplined by the club.

The 28-year-old has spent eight years with West Brom since his 2010 move from Rochdale and in that time, he has amassed almost 200 appearances for the West Midlands outfit.

The former England under-21 international is able to play as a right-back or as a centre-half and this has attracted interest from Scottish Premiership champions Celtic.

Leicester have already poached Jonny Evans from the Baggies this summer and could return for Dawson, especially if star man Harry Maguire completes a £65m move to Manchester United.

The Verdict

Dawson is a great defender and would really be an asset for West Brom in the Championship.

But if he wants to leave, he must be allowed to go because you do not want negative personalities in the camp, dampening the spirits.

West Brom have already signed Kyle Bartley as a potential replacement and Dawson would fetch a handy sum of money, too.
