Celtic have tabled a formal enquiry over the availability of Bristol City striker Kieran Agard, according to HITC Sport.

In only six starts for City this season, Agard has scored three goals, and has put in some highly commendable performances this season for the Championship club, attracting interest from several clubs, including Celtic, Fulham and Wigan.

Celtic currently sit top of the Scottish Premiership, six points clear of second placed Aberdeen, and are seemingly on the hunt for some new players this month.

Manager Ronny Delia will be looking to secure a deal to land another striker, either for back up or for the first team, in case in-form striker Leigh Griffiths opts to move away from Scotland this January.

At 26-years-old, Agard might not have too much potential left to fill, but a move to the Scottish champions could suit his career, and the striker could excel in a squad full of attacking talent.

Bristol City however, will not be in a rush to let their front man go, and whoever takes over from Steve Cotterill, will surely have a say in whether the former Arsenal youth player has a future at the club.

For now, Agard is a City player, but with deadline day fast approaching, that fact could be about to change.
