Celtic, Lazio and Villarreal are among a host of clubs interested in signing Bristol City winger Niclas Eliasson, according to Corriere Dello Sport.

The 24-year-old has been an integral player for the Robins since arriving from AIK Solna in 2017, making over 80 appearances for the club.

The exciting winger has been an influential player for Lee Johnson's side this season, scoring three goals and producing 10 assists in all competitions and establishing himself as one of the most creative players in the league.

But the Swedish attacker is now attracting interest from all over Europe, according to Corriere Dello Sport, with Celtic, Lazio and Villarreal said to be interested.

Lazio would reportedly be prepared to postpone their interest until the summer, with Celtic and Villarreal monitoring his situation ahead of a potential swoop.

City are certainly in no rush to sell Eliasson, who recently extended his contract at Ashton Gate until 2021, and Premier League side Burnley have also been linked with his signature of late.

City sit ninth in the Championship table, two points off the play-offs with a game in hand after winning three of their last four games.

The Verdict

Eliasson has been in exceptional form for Bristol City this season, and even though he hasn't scored so many goals himself, he has provided plenty for his teammates.

He is a player that City are lucky to have but they certainly hold all the cards having extended his contract at Ashton Gate, which will see them stand in good stead as clubs begin to lurk.

He seems happy to be at the club too, so I can't see him leaving the club, particularly this month, amid interest from plenty of high-profile clubs.
