Bournemouth are set to complete the Deadline Day signing of Celtic midfielder Ryan Christie, according to the Daily Record.

Celtic, who are also set to lose Odsonne Edouard to Crystal Palace, look set to lose another key player in Christie before the transfer window closes this evening.

Christie joined Celtic from Inverness in 2015 and has since made 151 appearances for Hoops in all competitions, scoring 41 goals.

The 26-year-old has been a key player under Ange Postecoglou in the early stages of this season, scoring one goal and adding three assists in a total of nine appearances.

But Christie is attracting interest from both Burnley and Bournemouth ahead of the transfer window closing this evening, with a move to the Championship said to be in the offing.

According to the Daily Record, Bournemouth are set to complete the signing of Christie for around £1million, with only six months left on his contract in Glasgow.

Burnley are said to have had tabled a bigger offer for Christie, but the Cherries look set to pip the Premier League side to an agreement.

The Verdict

This could actually turn out to be a tremendous deal for Bournemouth and a massive coup for Scott Parker.

The fact that Christie looks set to snub interest from the Premier League for Bournemouth shows just ambitious they are being here.

He is a very talented attacking midfielder who has been so influential for Celtic in the last six years, and chipped in with an impressive 15 assists in all competitions last season.

Parker knows what he will be getting here, and it's a blow for Celtic in my opinion.
