Cast your minds back to 2nd August 2016 Leeds United fans, as this has proved to be one of the most important days in recent times for the Yorkshire based club.

It was the day where Leeds finally announced the signing of Pablo Hernandez from Qatari side, Al-Arabi.

The initial deal was for Hernandez to join the Whites on a loan deal, but this soon became a permanent transfer to Elland Road, and it's safe to say it's proving to be an excellent bit of business.

His arrival was certainly met with a mixed reaction from Leeds supporters, so let's see what they had to say about the Spaniard when he first arrived at the club.

It's safe to say that the majority of Leeds supporters were pleased to see him arrive at Elland Road, and despite struggling at times for consistency, Hernandez has been in remarkable form this season.

The Spaniard has played a crucial role as to why the Whites are currently sat top of the Championship table.

Despite being injured part of the season, Hernandez has seven goals and 11 assists to his name which makes him one of the best players going forward in this division.

If Leeds are to have any chance of making a long-awaited return to the Premier League, then they are going to need Hernandez to be at the very top of his game, just like he has been already this season.

Hernandez is like a fine wine, and seems to be getting better with age and Marcelo Bielsa will be hoping that the creative midfielder can continue this excellent start to the season for the remainder of this year's campaign.

There has been much talk of the likes of Jack Clarke leaving, but if you're a Leeds fan, you'll be wanting to hold onto Hernandez more importantly, as his creative ability could arguably see him playing in the Premier League at this moment in time.

But if he can remain grounded and continue to make a notable contribution to this Leeds team, then there is no doubt that Hernandez will play a starring role in taking Leeds back into the top flight.
