Massimo Cellino has said one of the main reasons behind the sale of Ross McCormack was the players lack of respect towards him reports Phil Hay on his Twitter page.

Cellino says he had no other choice but to sell McCormack

McCormack completed an £11 million pound move to Fulham this morning, and Cellino said there was no other option but to let the player go.

Cellino said 'He's a bloody good player but he didn't respect me. It wasn't possible for me to keep him.

'He didn't turn up for the pre-season tour, he didn't want to be here and we got a very good price."

"We're losing 15 goals a season, not 30. It wasn't planned that he would go but we will sign players, that was certain anyway."

When asked if money would be invested in the team Cellino said "The players we're going to buy, we were going to buy anyway. So we need another forward."
