Barnsley dropped valuable points in a frustrating 2-2 draw with Coventry at Oakwell this weekend, which saw them lose ground on league-leaders, Luton Town.

The result means that the Tykes remain second in the League One table and have their promotion hopes out of their hands, with Sunderland having three games in hand on Daniel Stendel's side.

Cauley Woodrow netted his 15th goal of the season in the stalemate and admitted in a post on his Twitter account, that he was disappointed to drop points ahead of the promotion run-in.

Woodrow will play a crucial role in Barnsley's promotion bid this season, with first-choice striker, Kieffer Moore ruled out for the remainder of this year's campaign.

But he seems to be stepping up when needed, and will be keen to fire the Tykes straight back into the Championship at the first time of asking.

Daniel Stendel's side have looked like the team to beat for much of this season and they will be hoping to earn a deserved promotion this year, but it's certainly going to be a closely-fought battle.

The Tykes are next in action next weekend when they take on Burton Albion, where they will be hoping to pick up an all-important three points.

The Verdict:

Woodrow is going to be key to the success of this Barnsley side.

In the absence of Kieffer Moore, he needs to step up and score the goals to keep the Tykes in the race to win promotion back to the Championship at the first time of asking.

He's impressed me this season and could definitely make the step up to the Championship.
