Nottingham Forest have had an outstanding summer so far with Aitor Karanka making some major moves in the transfer market as he looks to rebuild his squad.

The Spaniard has been backed significantly, bringing in almost an entire team of new signings and the former Boro boss still wants more.

Therefore, even before a ball has been kicked, many are wondering if Forest could be like Wolves last season, who spent big on recruiting exciting foreign talent along with a few experienced players.

Obviously, the Reds will hope for a similar outcome but Karanka does have a tough job to create a team spirit and togetherness from so many new players.

Nevertheless, the quality is there and here we look at their potential XI that could light up the division...

The big keeper was superb on loan at the City Ground from January and it was crucial that they managed to extend his stay, which they have done.

The right-back is solid and flourished when given a chance by Karanka.

Another recruit from January the Portuguese defender is a tough competitor and has quality on the ball.

Dawson has returned to Forest and his experience and know-how will be key in this campaign.

The left-back joined on a free from QPR and could be a real bargain.

Another experienced player, Watson will be a key figure in the midfield battles and will look to get the ball out to the flair players quickly.

Arguably the only position Forest still need to strengthen, the Braga midfielder has been linked to Forest and would be a coup.

He has a good all-round game and could be a good partner for Watson at the base of the midfield.

The former Dinamo Zagreb man joined this summer with a big reputation and could be very effective cutting in from the right side.

The club-record £13m signing was a major statement from the club and the side will be built around him. Carvalho will have freedom to roam and will be the main creative outlet for Forest.

Another exciting signing, Goncalves will look to run at defenders with his great pace and has the potential to star at this level.

Forest finally completed a deal for their new number nine and have got a proven player in Grabban.

He scored 20 goals last season and should get close to that again with the service he is sure to receive in this team.
