Sheffield Wednesday boss Carlos Carvalhal has made collecting the division's top strikers something of a hobby, and the sheer quantity of attacking talent in his squad is astounding.

Steven Fletcher, Gary Hooper, Jordan Rhodes and Sam Winnall are just some of the weapons the Portuguese boss has at his disposal, and the boss has some tough decisions to make as to who will start.

Sam Winnall in particular, is a difficult call to make, and although the former Barnsley man may be relatively low down the list of likeliness to start, he could arguably be considered the most prolific.

Beginning his career at hometown side Wolverhampton, a spell with then League Two Burton Albion fired Winnall onto the scene, before a permanent switch to Scunthorpe saw the forward record a remarkable tally of a goal every other game, before repeating this stat during a three year stint with Barnsley.

The 26-year-old impressed for the Tykes in the first half of the season before his move to Sheffield, scoring 11 times, before opportunities became more limited at Hillsborough, although he did score 3 times in only 10 league starts.

When Winnall is utilised as the main man, the player finds the net on a consistent basis.

Jordan Rhodes and Winnall are very similar players, and it is unlikely that they will be deployed alongside each other too often when the campaign starts next month.

Rhodes is a £10 million man so perhaps holds the advantage, but Carvalhal should strongly consider giving Winnall a run in the team, because in a side of the Owls quality, this striker could easily break the 20 goal mark next semester.
