It's going to be a big weekend for Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship as they once again look to kick-start their campaign - this time away at Derby County.

The men from Hillsborough have really flattered to deceive this season with them undoubtedly frustrating fans with the way they can either win big games or let them slide and they really need to cut that out. Certainly, then, the Owls will be looking to do that this weekend with a big game against Derby.

The Rams, of course, beat Nottingham Forest last weekend and so they are bound to be buzzing but they also have a loss in them and so it could be a game for the braver and the players willing to take risks. Whilst we wait to see the XI's, though, it looks as though Glenn Loovens could be in the match-day squad, whilst Keiren Westwood is also improving.

Indeed, that is per Carlos Carvalhal who said:

Some good news for Wednesday, then, with the number 1 and skipper certainly key players for the Owls and undoubtedly first team starters when fit. It'll be interesting, then, to see if Loovens gets to start with him clearly the fitter of the two right now.

The Verdict

The Owls look like they're going to take off and then they fall flat but the return of Loovens would surely be a big boost.

The skipper has got a wealth of experience and on his return Wednesday might be able to finally build a more sustained run of form.
