Sheffield Wednesday manager Carlos Carvalhal has handed the club’s supporters a massive boost by confirming Tom Lees will be available for Friday’s clash with Reading, reports the club’s official Twitter account.

Lees has been missing since January’s draw with Bristol City, but is now available for selection against Reading, in a crucial fixture at the top of the Sky Bet Championship.

Carvalhal was facing a defensive crisis on Friday, with Vincent Sasso starting a three-match suspension, and Glenn Loovens a doubt following an injury picked up last week against Aston Villa.

Wednesday’s manager spoke briefly about injuries, confirming some terrific news for the club, he said: “I will not be talking about injuries, other than Tom Lees and Glenn Loovens are ready to play.”

Carvalhal’s side are sixth in the Championship, whilst Jaap Stam’s Reading side are fifth, and both teams know failure to record victory this weekend could see them drop out of the top-six, if Fulham pick up three-points against Wolves on Saturday.
