Sheffield Wednesday today confirmed that striker Jordan Rhodes has joined Norwich City on a season-long loan.

The former Blackburn man had established himself as one of the most prolific forwards outside the Premier League over the years and joined the Owls initially on loan before completing a big-money move in the summer.

However, immediately things didn't go well for the player as he struggled to find the net and was criticised for not taking a penalty in a play-off semi-final defeat to Huddersfield.

Those woes in front of goal continued last season and the change in manager with Jos Luhukay replacing Carlos Carvalhal made little difference.

Therefore, the 28-year old was always expected to move this summer and the Canaries had shown a keen interest in the player even though his wages looked to be a stumbling block at times.

Nevertheless, the move has gone through now and whilst Owls fans generally have agreed with the club's decision, there was a lot of sympathy for the player that it didn't work out at Hillsborough...
