Sheffield Wednesday have had their fair share of ups and downs over the years, although the Owls are now struggling in the Championship.

Garry Monk's side previously occupied a spot in the second tier play-off places, but a dismal run of results since the turn of the New Year has seen them slide down the Championship table at an alarming rate.

Sheffield Wednesday are now sat 15th in the Championship, and will be hoping they can turn their poor run of form around at the earliest of opportunities.

On the 13th May, it marked four years to the day since the Owls beat Brighton and Hove Albion in their play-off semi-final first leg at Hillsborough.

Goals from Kieran Lee and Ross Wallace proved to be enough for Carlos Carvalhal's side on the day, and they went on to book their spot in the final after a 1-1 draw in the away leg against the Seagulls.

Carvalhal took to Twitter to look back at that memorable day of the win in the first leg, and stated that it was a day that he will remember forever.

That season ended in frustrating fashion though, as Carvalhal's side were denied promotion into the Premier League after a narrow 1-0 defeat to Hull City in the play-off final at Wembley.

The Verdict:

It's good to see he still remembers his time with the club fondly.

Carvalhal had a number of impressive seasons with Sheffield Wednesday, and it was a shame to see him struggle towards the end of his time with the club.

Sheffield Wednesday haven't been good enough this season since the turn of the New Year, and Garry Monk will know that results simply have to improve before this year's campaign reaches a conclusion.

The Owls supporters have every right to be voicing their frustrations after a poor run of results.
