Carlisle United have raced out of the blocks in the transfer market this summer, and have today secured their third signing in the form of midfielder Luke Joyce.
The club announced via their official website that the former Accrington Stanley captain had signed a two-year contract with the Blues.
Joyce is actually returning for a second spell with the Cumbrians after first joining the club from Wigan Athletic in 2006.
The 27-year-old then joined Stanley on a free transfer in 2009 and became a mainstay in the side making 276 appearances for the Lancashire club.
Curle told the club’s official website: ‘He left this club as a boy and returns as a man.
‘He wants to get on the ball and get other players involved in the game.
‘He knows when and when not to try to play the ball and he’s a lad who can dictate the pace with his positioning and with the use of the ball.’
Joyce becomes the third signing this week and joins Jason Kennedy and Michael Raynes at the club.
