Cardiff City take on Stoke on Tuesday night in the Welsh capital, in what will be Neil Harris' first experience of a home game as Bluebirds boss.

Harris' first game in charge of the side last Saturday against Charlton Athletic ended in a 2-2 draw, with Cardiff coming back from two goals down at The Valley.

It was a good result under the circumstances, and Cardiff showed signs of how Harris wants them to play in the attacking third of the pitch, despite just having a week in training with the new manager.

However, Tuesday's game at the Cardiff City Stadium will be a different occasion altogether for the manager, as he will get to experience a home game in front of the Bluebirds fans.

Cardiff face a Stoke City side also under a new manager in Michael O'Neill, with the Potters winning their first two league games under the Northern Irishman.

Speaking to the club website, Harris said he is looking forward to Tuesday's clash, saying that it will be a "tremendous occasion."

“I’m hugely looking forward to Tuesday evening. It’s a privilege to manage this football club and tomorrow will be very special for myself and my family," he said.

“I can’t speak highly enough of the people I’ve met in Cardiff and the surrounding areas over the past seven days; I’ll never forget the welcome the fans gave me at Charlton, and we want to take the momentum from that game into the Stoke match."

How much can you remember from Cardiff's promotion winning season in 2017/2018?

The Verdict

It will be an emotional occasion for Neil Harris as he takes charge of first match in the home dugout at the Cardiff City Stadium, and he will want to ensure fans his side can produce a positive result against Stoke.

It will be a tough test against a resurgent side, but Harris will be confident of a win with the players he has at his disposal.
