After a spirited season in the Premier League, Neil Warnock's Cardiff City were relegated back to the second-tier at the first time of asking.

When the season ended, the Blue Birds sat just two points adrift of safety and of Brighton and Hove Albion but ultimately it was a case of so close yet so far.

But there is no doubt that, after recruiting intelligently in the top-flight, that the Welsh side will be well equipped to have another tilt at the title.

The likes of Bobby Reid, Nathaniel Mendez-Laing, Keneth Zohore and Sol Bamba are just a few of the proven second-tier talents that the club possesses.

However, the start of the season is still a fair way away and most of the team will be enjoying a well earned break after a gruelling campaign.

But what are they getting up to?

Neil Etheridge

The impressive Cardiff shot-stopper has been getting back in touch with his routes with a trip back to the Philippines.

There has been a fair bit of transfer speculation surrounding the international but he did not let it phase him as he enjoyed a spot of kayaking.

Josh Murphy

One of the few attacking players to impress in Neil Warnock's side last season, Murphy has been making the most of his time away from football.

A big trip to Barbados beckoned for the winger where he brought former Norwich City teammate Angus Gunn along too.

Kenneth Zohore

Zohore was one of Cardiff's key men when they upset the odds to win promotion two seasons ago and will be hoping to play a similar role this time around.

For now, however, he has been jetting off to sunnier climbs for a deserved rest as well as getting back in touch with his Danish roots.

Nathaniel Mendez-Laing

Having bagged twice on the final day of the season at Old Trafford, Mendez-Laing has taken a well deserved trip around America.

His most recent updates come from California and specifically the iconic Santa Monica pier as he prepares to return to pre-season training.
