Nottingham Forest certainly enjoyed a busy transfer deadline day, with Aitor Karanka shuffling the pack late on in terms of trying to squeeze out an improvement from his squad.
One surprise piece of activity was releasing former Arsenal defender Armand Traore, who had been starting matches in recent weeks, in order to allow him to move on freely once the window slammed shut.
Neil Warnock’s Cardiff City look set to be the beneficiaries, according to Wales Online, who report that the left-back will join the Bluebirds’ promotion push as he will not be a free agent for very long at all.
This one certainly surprised me. Traore has been starting at Forest in recent weeks and there is no obvious replacement – unless versatile deadline day signing Jack Colback has been brought in to play at left full back.
He will move up the league by joining Cardiff and could be a Premier League player by the end of the season.
