Neil Harris has been in charge of Cardiff City for the past couple of weeks, and he has already been making an impression upon the Bluebirds supporters.

Having replaced previous manager Neil Warnock at the Cardiff helm after Warnock resigned voluntarily, Harris has been the man that has been brought in to steady the ship at The Cardiff City Stadium and his first two games have been impressive.

Harris started off with a 2-2 draw away at Charlton Athletic, and his side showed great resilience to get back into the game after going 2-0 down and missing a crucial penalty at the start of the second half.

When Cardiff faced Stoke City at The Cardiff City Stadium on Tuesday night and Harris stepped out in front of the Bluebirds supporters for the first time, their loyal fans will have seen the Cardiff side play some excellent football and work themselves into some good areas by keeping the ball on the floor.

The club from South Wales has often been stereotyped as playing direct football, getting the ball into the frontman early and trying to use set pieces to their advantage.

Cardiff fans would have been frustrated with watching this brand of football for a few years, but now they will have seen that Harris is attempting to insert his own style of play into the players at his disposal.

The Bluebirds may not look defensively solid so far under Harris, but going forward, they look a different outfit to the one that was playing under Neil Warnock during his final few weeks.

Harris has continued with the same formation that Warnock favoured during his time as Cardiff boss, using a 4-2-3-1 with players across the park that complement each other perfectly.

He has reinstated Gary Madine into the starting lineup after being the forgotten man under Warnock, while he has made Lee Tomlin central to his plans in the No.10 position.

Cardiff fans will be pleased, delighted almost, to have seen an early glimpse of the football that Harris is trying to implement within his Cardiff side, and they will be looking forward to seeing how far he can take this Cardiff side in the long run.
