Cardiff City weighing up move for striker from Championship rivals

Published

on

Cardiff City are interested in Norwich and Northern Ireland forward Kyle Lafferty, according to Sky Sports, although it is believed that no official bid has yet been made.

Lafferty has been the star man for his country in recent years, playing an integral part in Northern Ireland’s historic qualification to Euro 2016, but has found life at club level a little more difficult.

He has struggled to break into the Canaries’ squad for a number of months now, albeit he did get a goal in the recent EFL Cup win over Coventry City.

The 6ft 4in striker will be looking to re-establish himself in the second tier, and Cardiff City may provide that opportunity.

The club themselves are looking quite short on goals, with 2 of their 4 strikes so far this campaign courtesy of Blackburn defender Shane Duffy.

Trollope will hope that Lafferty will add a little more firepower as the club look to build on last season’s eighth place finish.

Cardiff fans…What do you think? Would Lafferty be a good signing? How many more players would you like to see brought in before the deadline? Let us know your thoughts and opinions in the comments below!
