The Championship season returns this weekend with a glut of fun fixtures to whet the appetite for the year ahead.

One such clash will take place on Saturday as Cardiff City play host to recently relegated Norwich City.

The Bluebirds will be hopeful of an improvement on the 18th place Steve Morison’s side earned last campaign.

Meanwhile, Norwich will be aiming for a third promotion from the second division in a row in order to earn a place back in the Premier League.

Latest team news

We could see as many as seven debuts for Cardiff following a busy summer transfer window.

If Morison opts for an unchanged starting lineup to the team that beat Swindon Town 4-2 in their most recent pre-season friendly.

However, Jadence Philogene-Bidace is unlikely to go straight into the first XI having only just arrived from Aston Villa on loan.

Smith is likely to choose the same starting lineup as the one which tasted defeat to Celtic in their most recent friendly match.

But Isaac Hayden remains unavailable for selection due to a knee injury sustained during pre-season training.

Score prediction

2-0 Norwich win.
