Cardiff City striker set to leave the club

Published

on

Cardiff City are willing to listen to offers for striker Rickie Lambert during the January transfer window, reports the Daily Record.

Lambert, a summer signing from West Bromwich Albion, was brought in by former Cardiff boss Paul Trollope on Deadline Day.

The ex-England international has found his chances limited under new Bluebirds’ boss, Neil Warnock. Improved performances from Kenneth Zohore have seen Lambert fall out of favour.

Warnock has hinted that the club would only allow Lambert, who has four goals in 14 league starts this season, to leave on a permanent basis.

Cardiff are currently in the hunt for Aberdeen winger Jonny Hayes, and Warnock confirmed players will have to leave the club to free up funds for transfers.

Warnock’s side moved up to 16th in the Sky Bet Championship, following Saturday’s victory over Burton Albion, as they continue their rise away from the relegation zone.
