Cardiff City star open to returning to former club

Cardiff City midfielder Lex Immers has admitted that he would like to return to former club ADO Den Haag one day, according to a report by Dutch media outlet omroepwest.nl.

The Dutch midfielder joined Cardiff permanently this summer from Feyenoord after an impressive loan spell with the Welsh club last year.

He scored five goals in 15 league games last season as Cardiff managed a late recovery to finish in a respectable 8th place in the Championship and nearly claim a play-off spot.

In July this summer, Lex Immers signed a two-year contract with the Bluebirds and has played 12 games this season so far.

The versatile 6’2” Dutchman is capable of playing as a central midfielder, attacking midfielder or even as a striker.

In an interview with omroepwest.nl, the 30-year-old admitted his desire to return to his first club ADO Den Haag someday but insists that his family is settled in Cardiff and he has no immediate plans to head back to the Netherlands just yet.
