Cardiff's disappointing start to the season saw Paul Trollope lose his job and experienced Championship manager Neil Warnock was to be his replacement.

Since Warnock's arrival, The Bluebirds had picked up a bit, and pulled themselves away from the relegation zone, but a defeat away at Newcastle, tied in with a home defeat against relegation rivals Wigan, has seen them get dragged back into the relegation dogfight.

There is no doubt that Warnock isn't happy with the squad he has inherited.

This was evident when he signed four free agents within a week of getting the job so, come January, he will be looking to put his own stamp on the team.

One place Cardiff should look for players is the Premier League as there are plenty of fringe players about who would jump at the chance to leave and get regular first team football, so this is an avenue they should look to exploit.

Here, I will look at 3 Premier League fringe players who Cardiff should look to sign.

Frazier Campbell

The ex-Cardiff striker hasn't hit the heights expected of him at Crystal Palace and he has fallen well down the pecking order under Alan Pardew, so he could look for a move in January.

Campbell is blessed with blistering pace, something defenders hate coming up against, and he would cause huge problems for defenders in this division.

Campbell could score the goals that Cardiff so desperately need.

The Bluebirds are in need of a proven goal scorer and Campbell can produce a goal out of nowhere - something all relegation-battling sides need.

Maya Yoshida

Maya Yoshida

Yoshida is out of favour at St Mary's and with Florin Gardos returning from long-term injury, the Japanese international looks set to be getting even less football under Claude Puel.

Yoshida is a well-rounded defender, he can play with and without the ball.

He is good in possession and can retain the ball well, whilst being solid defensively and prepared to put his body on the line.

Yoshida would shore Cardiff up at the back and add the grit and determination for three points that Neil Warnock demands from his players.

Tendayi Darikwa

Darikwa was a mainstay for Burnley at the beginning of last season but then fell out of the starting eleven around Christmas and never regained his place.

Darikwa can bomb up and down the wing all game and supply quality into the box.

He is also solid defensively so he fits into what Warnock would be looking for.

Cardiff don't have a wealth of quality at right back, so that could definitely be somewhere that Warnock looks to improve and Darikwa would fit the bill for The Bluebirds.
