Cardiff City set to make improved bid for Irish midfielder

The Evening Express is reporting that Scottish Premier League outfit Aberdeen are readying themselves for an improved bid from Cardiff City for star man Jonny Hayes.

Neil Warnock has confirmed that he is interested in making a second bid for Hayes after Cardiff’s first undisclosed bid was considered insulting.

The bid was thought to be in the region of £500,000.

Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes told Cardiff to “be serious” with any future bid or “leave the boy alone”.

The Republic of Ireland international is considered one of the best talents in the Scottish top flight but he has 18 months left on his contract.

The 29-year-old could be subject to a cash plus player offer from Cardiff, according to “sources in Wales” via this report.

It is believed that Scotland under-21 international Matthew Kennedy is set to be offered to Aberdeen as bait to try to lure Hayes to Cardiff City this month.
