According to Wales Online, Cardiff City will not be signing Joe Ledley this summer.
Joe Ledley is out of contract this summer and a number of Cardiff fans had got excited about the possibility of a return for the former fans’ favourite.
However, these hopes have been dashed because Cardiff City simply cannot afford his Premier League wages.
The 30-year-old, who was born in Cardiff, joined the academy as a boy in 1996 and went on to play for the club until 2010.
After racking up over 250 appearances for the Bluebirds, Ledley left to join Celtic and then moved to Crystal Palace in 2013.
With just under 100 Crystal Palace games under his belt, the 72-times capped Wales international looks set to leave on a free transfer this summer.
Cardiff fans had hoped that the left-footed central midfielder might return to the Welsh capital but his wages are proving to be a major stumbling block.
