Cardiff City respond to Sol Bamba’s FA charge

Published

on

Cardiff City will ask for a personal hearing for Sol Bamba following his charge by the Football Assocation, according to BBC Sport.

The FA charged Sol Bamba with the website citing this reason: “It is alleged that his language and/or behaviour in or around the 69th minute of the fixture was abusive and/or insulting and/or threatening and is considered sufficiently serious to warrant an additional sanction.”

The charge relates to an incident in Cardiff’s recent fixture against Ipswich Town in which Sol Bamba reacted angrily to a challenge from Jonathan Douglas.

He confronted a number of players, the referee and the fourth official before shoving Neil Warnock away when his manager tried to calm him down.

Cardiff City have until 18:00 GMT to respond to this charge and Warnock has indicated that they will seek a personal hearing.

Bamba is currently halfway through a two match suspension but could face a longer ban.
