Cardiff City have reportedly wrapped up a £1 million deal for Wigan striker Omar Bogle on a three year contract, according to Tom Barclay of The Sun on Twitter.

The 25-year-old only linked up with the Latics from League Two Grimsby in January, but looks set for a return to the Championship, having failed to keep his current side in the division last season.

Bogle began his career in non-league football having enjoyed spells with West Brom, Birmingham and Celtic during his youth career, and made a name for himself with Solihull Moors.

32 goals in 68 appearances for The Mariners convinced Wigan to bring the player to the DW Stadium in an undisclosed deal, but it now appears his time in the north west is over.

Cardiff have already signed one relegated striker this summer in the form of former Rotherham man, Danny Ward, and Bogle could be the second such player through the doors, if reports are to be believed.

The Verdict: Cardiff have enjoyed an excellent start to the season, and manager Neil Warnock will look to continue their fine form in the coming weeks.

By adding depth to his striking options, Warnock has provided himself with insurance, should any of his player’s fall to injury, or move on to new ventures.

Bogle has proven himself an adept goalscorer whilst on the books of Solihull and Grimsby, and in the right side, will score a lot of goals.

With Nathaniel Mendez-Laing and Lee Tomlin feeding him from the wings, Bogle will surely find the net in this Cardiff side.

Cardiff fans, is Bogle a decent addition to your squad?
