With just four matches remaining this season, Cardiff City have a great chance of winning promotion to the Premier League.

The Bluebirds currently sit in second place in the Championship table and have the chance to stretch their lead to four points ahead of Fulham if they are able to win their game in hand.

Neil Warnock will be fully aware that the job is far from finished and his primary focus will be on ensuring that Cardiff get over the finish line, despite their recent wobble in form.

But there will also be a part of him thinking about the future and about any potential signings he could make if Cardiff do go up.

The Bluebirds are not very rich unlike a few of the other clubs around them so Warnock will need to be shrewd in the summer.

Here are four players he should be sending his scouts to watch.

If Cardiff win promotion, they might look to upgrade in the goalkeeping department.

Liverpool goalkeeper Danny Ward is third choice at Anfield but he would make a fine first choice option for many Premier League teams and perhaps Cardiff could swoop for the Wales international.

The 24-year-old impressed at Huddersfield last season during a loan spell and now he needs to make the right move to continue his progress - Cardiff would be an excellent move for him.

Alternatively, Cardiff could look to snap up Liverpool youngster Ben Woodburn on loan.

The Wales international is able to play as a winger, central attacking midfielder or as a striker and this versatility would be an important asset for Warnock to have in any Premier League squad.

The 18-year-old is rated very highly by Liverpool and a Premier League loan move could be the perfect next step in the starlet's development.

If Cardiff go up and Bristol City stay down, then they should look to take Bobby Reid to the Premier League with them.

Reid has thrived in a more advanced role for Bristol City this term and his goal tally of 18 league strikes ranks him as the second top scorer in the division.

The 25-year-old is in the form of his life and a move to the Premier League is surely on the cards this summer.

Charlie Austin is another forward who should be on Cardiff's radar if they go up.

Southampton's survival in the Premier League is looking increasingly unlikely and a number of top flight clubs will undoubtedly be circling around Austin.

But Cardiff should look to beat off any competitors and land the 28-year-old, whose goals could be the difference between survival and relegation in the Premier League next season.
