Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock has revealed that he hopes to have Kenneth Zohore back soon, BBC Sport is reporting.

Kenneth Zohore has recently had to undergo surgery on a heel injury but it has now emerged that this was only a minor injury and the striker should be back in the squad soon.

Neil Warnock hopes to have the forward back in time for the clash with Norwich City in a Friday night Championship game on December 1st.

Talking about Zohore, Warnock said: "I have not written off Norwich yet, but if not it will be the game after."

Meanwhile, fellow attacking option Nathaniel Mendez-Laing will also be out for tomorrow's game against Nottingham Forest.

The former Rochdale man is still injured after picking up a thigh concern against Bristol City in early November.

His recovery is being aided by time spent in an oxygen chamber.

On Mendez-Laing, Warnock said: "We are hoping he will respond to that because there is not a lot wrong.

"It's just sprinting."

Another attacking option Kadeem Harris is also out, still on the sidelines since picking up an ankle injury in August.

The Verdict

Without Nathaniel Mendez-Laing, Kadeem Harris and Kenneth Zohore in the attacking regions, Warnock's options are stretched.

Cardiff are still in the hunt for the automatic promotion places but they need their scorers and attacking threats to return as soon as possible.

This news on Zohore - that the injury is not as serious as first feared - is a major boost.
