Goal-scoring has never come naturally to winger Nathaniel Mendez-Laing but he has netted twice under new manager Neil Harris this season after failing to find the net under his predecessor Neil Warnock during the 2019-2020 season.

The 27-year-old has managed to find the net in two out of Harris' first three games and he will be delighted having discovered a brief purple patch in front of goal lately.

Scoring two in three would have just been dreamt about by the winger when the 42-year-old Harris was appointed but Mendez-Laing will be delighted with the way that he is managing to score at a consistent rate.

Having only found the net 11 times in two seasons before the current campaign after signing in 2017, scoring goals at a consistent rate is clearly not what the winger is all about, with his pace down the wings and trying to create chances for his team-mates being more of his game.

Harris has clearly had a word in the winger's ear and told him to get in the box more where the chances will come to him with the playing style that the new Bluebirds manager is looking to adapt with his side.

With chances now coming regularly for the Cardiff forwards as Harris remains unbeaten while in charge of the Bluebirds, Mendez-Laing will be delighted with the opportunities he is now getting in front of goal and the fact that he is converting them.

It hasn't just been the scoring form that Mendez-Laing has been showing that has been impressive, his all-round game has been consistent during the first three games under Harris.

The winger seems to have bought into what the new Cardiff manager is trying to achieve at The Cardiff City Stadium after being appointed as manager last month, and he will be out to impress over the coming months as he looks to help Harris and Cardiff climb up the table.
