Cardiff City are thought to have told eight of their youngsters that they will not be offered fresh terms in the summer.

WalesOnline reported the news with nothing official yet to break from the club.

Right-back Cameron Coxe is thought to be the highest-profile player who is facing the axe with the 21-year-old having made four appearances for the Bluebirds senior squad. He has also been named as an unused substitute in the league six times this season.

Winger Shamar Moore has only been at the club since last summer after being released from Reading but it is believed his time at The Cardiff City Stadium is up.

21-year-old central midfielder Jake Evans has been at the club since the summer of 2018 after joining from Farnborough but he has struggled to kick on and develop in the last couple of years.

Midfielder Lawrence Wooton is another player that is expected to run down his contract this summer.

Another four youngsters are thought to be on their way out of the door in the summer but these are currently unidentified.

Cardiff have seemingly made the decision early to let some of their youngsters go despite being allowed to run their contracts down.

The decisions would have been made with their futures in mind as the eight youngsters will be allowed to earn trials elsewhere between now and the summer when they find themselves being a free agent.

Coxe is a surprising choice to be released after his involvement with the senior squad this season but he should be able to find a move to a club in the professional ranks of the Football League.
