According to reports in the Gloucestershire Live, automatic promotion chasers Cardiff City are looking to secure the services of Forest Green striker Christian Doidge, in a deal worth £1 million.
Cardiff City have been superb this season under Neil Warnock as they look to find a way back into the Premier League for the first time since the 2013-14 season.
In their efforts towards finding promotion they've now turned their attention to acquiring League 2 striker Christian Doidge from a struggling Forest Green side.
The 25-year-old has scored 17 goals for the League 2 side this season, a pretty impressive figure considering their current position.
Last season saw him carry out his prolific ways in a similar fashion as he bagged himself 27 goals that went along way to helping them gain promotion back to the Football League, via the route of the play-offs.
For a player that was released by Southampton during his youth days, he's come a long way to proving them wrong, and a move to Championship side Cardiff City would reward the striker massively for his efforts.
The verdict
Christian Doidge is a prolific striker.
There's a guarantee that he will bring you goals, but moving up 3 divisions to the Championship may be a risk for Cardiff City if they do decide to pay the £1 million.
Although, after seeing the rise of Andre Gray and Jamie Vardy from their performances in non-league football, you could say it's well worth a punt for the Bluebirds.
Nevertheless, in a side that's receiving interest for striker Kenneth Zohore, a replacement is needed in Cardiff.
