Cardiff City have a made a move to sign Le Havre striker Alimami Gory, according to L'Equipe.

It is understood the Bluebirds have submitted a bid for the Frenchman, but it is not known how much the South Wales club are prepared to offer for their second striker addition of the window following Robert Glatzel's arrival.

Gory scored a total of 10 goals in 38 appearances for Le Havre last season as Paul Le Guen's side secured a seventh-placed finish in Ligue 2.

The report states Gory has not decided whether he wants to move to across the channel, and it could prove to be a difficult decision as he has risen through the academy ranks at Le Havre.

The 22-year-old has 12 months remaining on his current deal with the Stade Oceane outfit, and his stock is currently high following his call-up to the Mali national side last season.

The verdict

This could be a smart signing from Cardiff, as they could do with one more striker to boost their attacking options.

Gory looks to be a fast and clinical attacker, and the fact he will be unknown to many Championship defenders means he will add an element of unpredictability to Cardiff's attack.

It also speaks volumes for Cardiff's scouting network that they have picked up on Gory's quality, as the striker has not been linked with any other Championship clubs this summer. He is a player who would fit in well at Cardiff given Neil Warnock's preference for fast attacking players.

Gory would certainly be an exciting addition for Cardiff if he arrives before the deadline, and Bluebirds fans will be craving some good news following their surprise defeat to Wigan on the weekend.
