Cardiff City fans will be pleased to hear the news that Kenneth Zohore's injury might not be as serious as first feared, London News Online reports.

After sitting out of Saturday's match against Middlesbrough, which Cardiff City triumphed 1-0 in, there were concerns that Zohore would be out for a substantial period of time.

Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock confirmed that the Dane had ruptured his ligament, which would normally spark fears surrounding how many months Zohore would be sidelined for.

However, Warnock believes that the 23-year-old could be back fit in time to face Millwall next Saturday as Cardiff continue their ascent up the Championship table and compete for automatic promotion.

Warnock said:

“It happened in training yesterday with no-one near him – he just caught his studs in his turf and affected the back of his ankle.

He’s actually ruptured his ankle ligaments which sounds terrible, but as daft as it seems, he might be fit for Saturday.

“Apparently it’s not a ligament you need and you could cut it off and use it elsewhere in your body if you needed to; it’s not weight-bearing so it’s just sore and when he comes out of that pain by Wednesday or Thursday, he will be fit.”

The Verdict

Kenneth Zohore's presence in the line-up gives Cardiff a central figure to work around and he has an eye for goal.

With fifteen goals to his name for Cardiff so far since joining on a permanent deal, Zohore is getting better as he gets older and more experienced.

Cardiff fans will be hoping that he is available to take on Millwall.
