Former Millwall manager Neil Harris is being linked with the vacancy at Cardiff City following Neil Warnock's resignation from his role at The Cardiff City Stadium, and Cardiff fans will be pleased with the latest development.

It is thought that Cardiff are thought to be wanting a quick appointment while the international break is going on, and Harris has emerged as the favourite for the job having been out of work for the past month since leaving Millwall.

The 42-year-old, who made three appearances on loan for the Bluebirds in 2004 from the Lions, will have been assessing his options over the past month and after the work that he did across a four-and-a-half period with the Lions as manager, he has proven that he has what it takes to manage in the Championship.

From March 2015, following a previous spell as Millwall caretaker over a two-week period in the 2013-2014 season, the young manager has taken charge of 245 Millwall games while permanent manager, winning 102 of them and losing 77.

While he may not boast the best CV out of prospective candidates for Cardiff, he would certainly bring a mentality that would make Cardiff hard to break down on the pitch, with the players already there to do just that.

Having won the League One play-offs in 2017, Harris would bring a winning mentality with him having proven that he is capable of being successful as a manager, and he managed to stabilise the Lions in England's second tier.

Cardiff supporters would be pleased to see Harris linked with the role as the 42-year-old would make the Bluebirds a tough unit and would also unite the fans and players, something that he managed to do relatively well while in charge of Millwall.

The Millwall legend has a charisma about him that makes him a likeable character, and Cardiff supporters would certainly take to him as a manager if he was to be appointed as the man that could take Cardiff forward.

Harris has a likeable persona and the squad is already in place at The Cardiff City Stadium to play the way that Harris would want to, therefore the potential is there for him to get results early on to please the Bluebirds supporters.
