Rotherham United striker Danny Ward is set to sign for Championship side Cardiff City, according to The Sun.

The side from South Wales have reportedly agreed a £1m fee with the relegated Millers for their star striker and he is set to arrive for a medical later this week.

The 26-year-old forward was the only real shining light in a miserable season for the relegated side, notching 11 goals which made up over a quarter of the team's total scored.

With Ward in the last year of his contract, the Millers seem to have made the decision to allow him to leave the club and Warnock looks to be the man to take him off their hands, reuniting with his former player.

Cardiff have been in the market to add more firepower to their striking options on top of Kenneth Zohore, who finished last season in incredible style.

Warnock will be hoping that Ward will help to push the Bluebirds up the table along with any further additions that are made until the transfer window closes in a couple of month's time.

The Millers, on the other hand, are now looking close to sign Fleetwood Town striker David Ball as a result of Ward leaving the club.
